If you went to your doctor to get medication for a health issue and he gave you an herb as your medicine, how would that make you feel?

In the western world of medicine, you might be taken back - confused as to why you’re  getting part of a plant and not a pill (you might even think you’d be better off with a STRONG Coffee!)

But in many other cultures around the world,  herbal remedies have long been a major part of treating illnesses -  and for a good reason.

In this article, we’ll cover:

  • Some Valuable Herbal Remedies

Herbal Remedies are on the Rise

While herbal remedies are quite under-developed in the United States, it has long been a major part of medicine in many other parts of the world.

Use of herbal remedies can be dated back to around 6,000 years ago. Some cultures even created their own medical systems, which were founded upon the benefits of these herbal remedies. (such as traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda.)

And while some countries still heavily use herbal remedies, the western world is going through a rediscovery of these effective treatment methods.

And, it’s proving great value to many people.

5 Valuable Herbal Remedies:

1. Reishi

The Reishi mushroom is a fungus that is indigenous to certain parts of Asia, and has proved to be a powerful medicine for over 4,000 years.

Along with strengthening your immune system, regulating your blood sugar, and fighting cancer, studies have found that Reishi mushrooms can also combat anxiety and depression.

Research found that Reishi has a powerful effect of calming your central nervous system - which is why Resishi is particularly helpful in treating anxiety symptoms.

(Reishi has had so much clinical success with treating anxiety, we put it in our STRONG Coffee to help smooth out the jittery side-effects of caffeine)

2. Turmeric

Turmeric is a medicinal plant commonly found in Asia, however, its medicinal properties come from a specific chemical in the plant called Curcumin.

The medical benefits of Curcumin have been so influential over the course of history, Turmeric is seen as a sacred spice in the Hiundu religion - even using it as an important element in their wedding ceremonies.

Some of the benefits of Turmeric include:

Specifically in treating the cold and flu, research found that Elderberry had a significant effect in shortening the severity and duration of symptoms. This could be linked with Elderberry’s particularly high level of antioxidants - helping strengthen your immune system.

4. Turkey’s Tail

Turkey Tail is another wonderful supplement for boosting your immune system, particularly because it’s loaded with antioxidants. Research found that regular consumption of Turkey Tail led to an improved immune function, specifically in cancer patients.

In fact, many studies concluded that Turkey Tail has significant potential in fighting cancer cells by strengthening your immune system -  making it a great holistic treatment for cancer patients.

Ashwagandha is also a great candidate for helping treat anxiety. Research found that Ashwagandha helps control mediators of stress in your brain, which gives it its effects of relieving anxiety symptoms.
