Our Story

Most CEO’s would never tell you what I’m about to share with you.

But it’s important that you know the full story of why STRONG Coffee might be closing its doors for good.

AND how we ended up with 2 years worth of overstock coffee.

Ironically…

This story starts with one of the biggest wins of my entrepreneurial journey.

It was December 14th, 2021 and I just got off the phone with Whole Foods Market…

They wanted to buy 2 million dollars worth of STRONG Coffee.

I couldn’t believe it…

This was something I’d been working on for the last 2 years — and it was finally real.

I noticed tears rolling down my cheeks.

STRONG Coffee was going to be on the shelves of one of the biggest and most famous health stores in the world.

Not only that… But they wanted us in every store in America.

Fulfilling an order that big was going to be tough for a small, family-run business…

But we got to work and we made it happen.

As you can imagine…

It cost us A LOT of money to make enough STRONG Coffee to fill every Whole Food Market in America.

And to be honest with you — I took some big financial risks to make it happen.

A few months later, I walked into my local Whole Foods and there it was on the shelves…

This was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Years of hard work finally paid off.

Fast forward a few months later, the initial excitement had worn off…

Early one Monday morning, I got an unusual text from my right hand man, Justin:

“Yo Adam, we gotta’ talk.”

(Justin is usually cool as a cucumber, so for him to be worried — I knew something serious happened.)

I grabbed my cup of coffee and stepped outside to give him a call.

“What’s up, J?” I ask.

“I just got an email from Whole Foods…

They want to cancel half off their orders”

CANCEL HALF OF THEIR ORDER?!

No way — there must be a mistake.

THAT’S ALMOST A MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF COFFEE.

After hours on the phone and a dozen emails — it was true.

Just like that, we were left with over 100,000 boxes of STRONG Coffee.

Even with our online store, this was enough coffee for the next 2 years.

I wish I could say that this story has a happy ending.

But to be honest with you …

This is still a huge problem for our small family business.

And this could've been the end of STRONG Coffee Company.
